So there's been a lot of talk for a few months now about HBO's upcoming adaptation of Gaiman's American Gods.

Now, io9 just put up this awesome interview with Gaiman about the book, the TV show, and the sequels. That's the part where I squeed myself. Just thought of getting more novellas and novels in this world makes me all giddy.

We arrived fashionably late to see Neil Gaiman read from the Graveyard Book last night, the first half of Chapter 7. Which was fantastic and odd, because it seemed like we were hearing the climax and now I know some of the suprises in store for me, even though I haven't started reading the book myself. Friday night we ducked over to Disneyland's California Adventure to do their trick or treat thing with Claire, our neighbors, and their kids, which was loads of fun. Claire is very funny these days. She wasn't so much into the candy as she was going on the rides, the faster the better.  We spun around on the Ladybug ride (think: teacups witha A Bug ( Read more... )

Did you ever long to cruise in an airship over post-apocalyptic, turn of the century (last century) San Francisco, while an exotic steampunk band rocked in the background.

Now you can. Minus the post-apocalyptic bit (although it will be Halloween in SF, so I suppose anything's possible).  Geez, that would be cool.

I read Neverwhere on Christmas break from college.  I hadn't been reading any fantasy or science fiction, really, and was blown away by the idea of an alternate world existing in the London subways.  It just felt so wonderfully escapist.   I was also shocked by the juxtaposition of humor and horror.  It was the first thing of Gaiman's that I read, ( Read more... )
